High-Risk Pregnancy Therapy

Our current medical culture has a broad definition of high-risk pregnancy. That is why therapy services at Charis et Veritas include high-risk pregnancy. 

From geriatric pregnancy to threatened miscarriage and a whole range of diagnoses in between, women and their partners can hear a variety of scary and confusing terms regarding their pregnancy.

Whether the risk is to the mother, baby, or both, these diagnoses can create anxiety, physical pain, and trauma. Therapy provides a place for individuals and couples to share their experiences and receive grace, compassion, and hope.

Maternal and Infant morbidity and mortality is a complex issue with many factors involved. The history of gynecology has some very dark years of unethical and abusive practices that created mistrust for some women. That combined with a need for trauma-informed care and access to care issues has created some barriers for women who are at risk.

Through years of ongoing education and exploration, we have read and listened to the experiences of women and families facing loss. It is our honor to be a part of the community speaking out to address these issues and bring awareness to the needs of women.
